New Registration Survey Results

Thanks to everyone who took less than one minute to answer two questions on how they felt about the new online registration system.

Some of the great suggestions for next year in the registration system are:

"Not able to add random notes like I did when it was paper."

"More space to add detail for helpful tips for care and behaviour"

"Let people know the confirmation number for the e-transfer will be in the notification from the bank that the funds were deposited. I did not receive that number until after I had completed the registration."

"1. Allow to sign authorization form online 2. Allow online payment for registration"

Please Note: We will be working on these for next year.  However, the online payment and VeriSign add-ins are expensive!  Our current methods are free plus postage, and we are trying to keep our camp fees as low as possible.

Some positive comments that were given in the suggestion section were:

"Easy to use and intuitive"

"I loved registering this way! Easy and convenient. Great move!"

"This is my first year registering, but I found the form easy to follow and fill out."

"I appreciated it being online. It was a quicker response to know you received everything."

"My husband and I could not figure it out so Pearl was able to help us out thanks Pearl you were wonderful."

Common questions about camp registration

Question:

Do I have to have a picture of the camper and the payment information (e-Transfer reference number) and all the other information health information prior to starting the registration?

Answer:  Ideally, yes as then your registration will be completed and the spot shall be reserved.  However, if you forget anything simply save your user ID and password and then when you go to log in again all the information you put in will auto-fill for you to finish your registration.

Question:

Can I use the same cheque or e-Transfer to pay for multiple campers or camp registrations at once?

Answer: Yes, simply use the cheque number or e-Transfer reference number in all payment cases.  We will do the math on our end and make deposits/payments as paid.  It is helpful to put a note with the mailed cheque or comment in the e-Transfer to let us match up the camper and camp to the payments.

Question:

Can I just print out the registration information and then mail it in?

Answer: Yes, from your internet browser with the camp registration form on your screen select the 'Print' function, this will print the registration form as a blank form.  You can also click to open the 'Informed Consent' form and print that as well.  Complete and mail it to us with the payment.   However, you may be put on a waiting list if the camp fills up in the meantime.

Question:

Will you accept post-dated cheques?

Answer: Yes, for the final payment amount only.  The deposit cheque must be dated the same day the forms are mailed.  Final payment is due 4 weeks before the start of camp.  Registrations that are not marked "paid" by then may be canceled.

Question:

What if I need help or do not have access to the internet to register my camper for camp?

Answer: Contact us by telephone (250)-253-3045 and we can help you get registered over the telephone and via mailing forms to you.

What's New in 2025?

All of the great things you loved in 2024 are back, with a few new twists!

2025 SUMMER CAMP THEME

This year is we are on a Journey. Deuteronomy 2: 7

NEW DIRECTORS

We welcome Dan & Pearl Hiemstra as the new camp directors taking over from Jacquie Bolen.  Dan and Pearl spent 2024 working under Jacquie and will do their best to keep the camp fun and maybe a few new improvements along the way.  We are introducing a new fundraising program called "Adopt-a-Bunk" at camp, contact us to find out more information either to donate or to apply for financial supports for camp fees.

CAMP FEES

Due to the recent increases in food costs, there will be a small fee increase.   Summer camps will be increased by $15 and weekend camps will be increased by $10/camper.  If that is a hardship for your camper, then please contact us about our Camp Sponsorship programs as we attempt each year to find donors for those who can't afford the camp fees.  The reason for this is to cover the ever-increasing costs of running camp. we are doing our best to increase the community contributions to help bring camp costs down.  Please contact us if  you know someone who would like to donate time, prayer, or fees.

ONLINE REGISTRATIONS

This year, to save on postage and printing costs, there will be one brochure for all Amasa camps throughout B.C., and we will be moving to an online registration with the dates posted on our website www.amasa.ca.  Registration is scheduled to open in the new year.  If you require a manual registration for any 2025 camp mailed to you, please contact us and we will mail you a manual camp registration form. We hope that this will make the process of registration easier and more effective.  The prices for each camp, the deadline for payment of fees, and returning information forms are set out in the registration system.  Each caregiver/camper will receive an information sheet with a list of what to bring to camp, directions, and the balance owing with their deposit receipt via email.

EXPANSION TO NEW CAMP AREAS OF BC

For June 2025, we are offering an Amasa Camp at Elkgrove Camp in Abbotsford/Aldergrove area in the Lower Mainland of BC. We pray that we will be able to offer camp again at Echo Lake Bible Camp, near Vanderhoof, B.C. by 2026.  We pray that we are able to bring Amasa camp close to all people with diverse abilities who are looking for a fun bible camp experience.

Looking forward to a great time in 2025!  May God bless you and keep you until we meet again at camp!
