Announcing new Camp Amasa Directors, Dan and Pearl Hiemstra.

Dan & Pearl Hiemstra have been helping people within the community for 30 years. From running vacation bible school, supporting special needs adults to find employment, raising a child with Autism to teaching at several Christian schools along with volunteering at Camp Amasa over those years, Dan and Pearl have been willing to use these experiences and skills to serve God.

Jacquie has been our Camp Amasa Director since 2008 when she first ran (organized)  a camp at Maple Springs! God has led Jacquie for 15 years to build a wonderful camp experience that we all have grown to love since His love is abundant in her and at every camp!  Jacquie will be assisting Dan & Pearl Hiemstra (new Amasa Camp Directors) in the transition year of 2024.  Some of you might remember Pearl as a speaker and both Dan and Pearl as cabin leaders over the years.

Please take a moment please to pray for Jacquie as she helps us transition and moves onto her retirement journey, and also pray for Dan and Pearl as they take on the calling He has given them in providing the blessings of His glory!

As we grow and expand our programs, we try to ask ourselves how best to accomodate the campers who want to attend summer camps and retreats.  So this year, we have made the decision that campers may attend only one weekend retreat per calendar year and/or one week of summer camp.  Hopefully, this will ease the frustration of campers who have been on the retreat wait-list, but not getting in!

2020’s dates are March 13 -15 and November 20 - 22 for the weekend retreats at Gardom Lake Bible Camp; May 25 - 29 at Echo Lake Bible Camp, Fort St. James, BC; and July 6 - 10, July 27 - 31 and August 17 - 21 at Elkcanoe, Salmon Arm. 

If you have attended in the past couple of years. you will receive a brochure in the mail or click on the brochure link on the tab marked “Camps” to print a copy!
